Konsileo, the award-winning chartered commercial insurance broker, has secured a further £5 million in equity investment to support its continued growth, investment in technology and recruitment across the UK.
The latest investment, led by existing shareholders Committed Capital alongside ACF Investors, comes as the business employs more than 220 people and arranges over £85 million in annual insurance premiums for businesses nationwide.
Stephen Kenyon, Client Director at Konsileo, works with businesses across Mid Wales and Shropshire, specialising in commercial and agricultural insurance.
Stephen believes the investment reflects the strength of Konsileo’s approach to insurance broking and its commitment to giving clients access to experienced advisers supported by innovative technology.
“This is a significant vote of confidence in Konsileo and the direction the business is heading,” he said. “The investment gives us an opportunity to continue developing the business, investing in technology and strengthening the service we provide to our clients.”
Stephen brings extensive experience in commercial and agricultural insurance, working with businesses ranging from family-run farms to established commercial enterprises.
He believes that combining local knowledge with the resources and technology of a growing national broker is particularly important for businesses across rural communities.
“For me, good insurance broking is about understanding the business behind the policy. Every client has different risks, challenges and ambitions. My role is to understand those needs and help ensure the right protection is in place.”
Konsileo has developed its own technology platform to reduce administration, improve the quality of risk information presented to insurers and give brokers more time to focus on their clients. The business is also investing in the use of artificial intelligence to support its next phase of development.
Stephen has been incorporating drone technology and AI into the way he presents risks to insurers, helping provide a more detailed picture of commercial and agricultural properties.
“Technology is changing the way we present and understand risk. By combining detailed information, innovative tools and professional advice, we can give insurers a clearer understanding of the businesses we represent and help our clients make better-informed decisions.”
For businesses across Shropshire and Mid Wales, Stephen says the priority remains straightforward: accessible advice, a personal service and insurance solutions built around the individual business.
“Although Konsileo continues to grow nationally, the importance of local relationships has not changed. Businesses want to deal with someone who understands their industry, knows their circumstances and is there when they need advice.”
The £5 million investment marks another milestone for Konsileo as it approaches its 10th anniversary, with the business continuing to develop its technology, attract experienced insurance professionals and build on its position in the commercial insurance market.
