Farm implements, machinery, workshop tools and livestock equipment sold for up to £26,000 at a well-supported Welsh border dairy farm dispersal sale on Saturday.
The sale at Walcot Farm, Chirbury, was conducted by Halls auctioneers for Keith Jones, of R. & K. Jones, who is retiring after more than 50 years at the farm, following the end of a farm tenancy.
Mr Jones and his family have farmed at Walcot Farm since the 1970s.
Halls’ first farm dispersal sale of the year attracted a large crowd and the top price of £26,000 went to a 2015 Manitou MLT 735.
The other leading prices were £15,200 for a New Holland FX58 forage harvester, £13,000 for a 2001 Massey Ferguson 36 Combine, £12,000 for 2014 Korte 700 S2 HD PTO roller mill, £10,200 for a 2009 Hi Spec 3,000-gallon single axle slurry tanker, £8,600 for a 12-ton Weeks Weston twin axle trailer with silage sides and £6,000 for a Thomas Skid Steer 135-S.
More than 210 lots went under the hammer and buyers attending the sale competed with those online via MartEye auction platform.
“It was a successful first farm dispersal sale of 2025 and we must thank Keith Jones for the instruction and everyone who supported it,” said Henry Hyde, an auctioneer at Halls.
