Police confirm they are looking into Welshpool tip incident
It was the second day of a new controversial booking system being introduced, and one reader told us that someone tried to gain access without a booking.
Powys County Council said that any violence towards staff would not be tolerated, and last night the local police force confirmed they were involved.
“Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a disturbance at around 9.30am on Thursday, April 3, at Welshpool Recycling Centre,” the force told us. “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
Powys County Council said it was pleased overall with the system’s introduction, reporting that over 1,000 bookings were made on the first week.
