Elliott enters the Dragon's Den and leaves with an investment

An Abermule based entrepreneur has pedalled his way to national recognition after securing investment on BBC One’s Dragons’ Den.

Elliott Tanner, founder of Stashed Products, impressed the panel of business moguls, securing a deal that could accelerate the growth of his innovative bike storage company.

The success follows support from Powys County Council, which awarded Stashed Products a £25,000 growth grant last year. The funding was used to expand operations at the company’s Abermule base, install mezzanine flooring and workstations, develop a marketing and retail suite, and invest in stacking and picking equipment. The grant also aimed to help create three full-time jobs in 2024.

Appearing on last night’s episode, Tanner described stepping into the Den as “one of the most intense experiences” of his life.

“My mind went blank just as I stepped through the lift doors, and I could barely remember my own name,” he admitted. “But once I found my stride, I started to really enjoy the whole experience. The support I’ve had from Powys County Council has been integral to our success, and getting offers of investment from four Dragons feels like a real endorsement of everything we do at Stashed Products.”

Founded less than three years ago, Stashed Products has made a name for itself with its SpaceRail system – a space-saving, stylish, and robust bike storage solution that has gained global recognition. Designed for everyone from home enthusiasts to industry professionals, SpaceRail is used in settings ranging from busy workshops to high-profile bike brands.

Councillor David Selby, Powys County Council’s Cabinet Member for a More Prosperous Powys, praised the company’s achievements.

“It is pleasing to see that a Powys business supported by the council and the Welsh Government’s research, development, and innovation funding has gone on to be backed by highly respected investors,” he said.

Stashed Products was one of 71 businesses to receive a share of nearly £1 million in growth grants from the council last year, designed to fund capital projects and boost local employment opportunities.

For businesses in Powys seeking support, more information is available via Powys County Council’s website or Business Wales.
