Glorious 10k run injects energy into Welshpool

The conditions couldn’t have been better for the Welshpool 10k with brought a burst of energy into the town centre today.

Over 600 runners took on the challenging course that started and finished in the town centre, taking in the glorious surroundings of Powis Castle.

It was a welcome blaze of colour with the town buzzing with participants and supporters who have travelled in from across the area.

Organisers Adrenaline Sporting Events paid up for free parking for the morning, and if Powys County Council officials were watching, they would surely have been impressed by the impact it made, and hopefully support the event, and others like this, in future.

Joe Robson was first across the line, but whoever won is irrelevant when you have so many people running for whatever reason, like Phil Jones (pictured on the right) who completed his seventh 10k in seven days, raising more than £10,000 Parkinson’s UK.

It was another memorable event for the town, and one that Welshpool will hope returns for many years to come.
