One woman’s bid to spread some Festive joy in Welshpool has been ruined by a Grinch.
Liz Brown had joined the ‘yarn-bombing’ craze by knitting a lovely festive scene (pictured) for children to enjoy whilst posting their letters to Santa at the Royal Mail post box on Salop Road.
But less than 24 hours later it had disappeared with bits and pieces of the display found in gardens nearby.
It understandably upset Liz who said: “Not sure if I'm angry or just sad that my attempt to spread a bit of festive happiness was vandalised after being out for only just 24hrs!
“There's been some media coverage of areas where they've been put out and actually enjoyed, I had hoped that even if it wasn't something you would appreciate, you could at least just walk on past and leave it intact.
“It took hours of time and planning but obviously there's just no point in trying to do anything for the general public and it will definitely be the last time I do it!”
One resident replied that “tree was found in my friend’s garden. Think someone must of thrown it in there (not far from the post box) but nothing else was with it”.
So MyWelshpool is appealing that if it was you, or you know the person responsible, in the spirit of Christmas please return it to its rightful location.
