Time is quickly running out if you fancy being Welshpool's new Town Crier.
Welshpool Town Council will be hosting a competition to find a Town Crier outside the Town Hall on Sunday, August 9 at 3pm but anyone wishing to enter must do so by August - that's next Wednesday.
A panel of judges and members of the the public will vote for the winner and the competition will be open to those living within the Welshpool Town Council boundary.
The winning candidate is expected to hold the post for at least 3 years, during which time they will be asked to attend numerous town events such as the Carnival and Winter Festival.
Entrants are asked to prepare an ‘Interesting Fact’ about the town, and will also be given an additional announcement on the day.
