Day 8 takes to the water

Our colleagues at Great Escape have shared a tough exercise for us all to try and are reiterating the importance of hydration. Personal trainer Charlie Proctor talks us through it...

“The renegade row push-up is our next suggestion to try. It’s an exercise that hits a variety of muscle groups all in one go, mainly your chest, back and core.

“Assume the press-up position with your hands placed around two dumb bells, perform a row on completion of a press up, alternating the dumb bells.

“If adding in the press-up is too much of a challenge, you could begin by just executing the row first and then try the press-up after a few weeks of progression.

“When it comes to nutrition, hydration is our tip of today. We go on about it quite frequently, as do many personal trainers, but it is vitally important to drink as much water as you can.

“Around two litres is a realistic aim that we’d suggest, and we appreciate that it can be difficult to keep on top of it.

“By allowing your body to function to its maximum when its fully hydrated, fat loss can be increased significently.”
