Cricket Club’s President’s Day

Welshpool Cricket Club will host its annual President’s Day this Sunday at their Maesydre ground and clubhouse.

All current and past members, supporters and sponsors are invited to join them for what should be an entertaining day of cricket and reminiscing.

The day kicks off with the club’s under 13s team playing their Newtown counterparts at 10am in a 6-a-side tournament.

At 1pm, a club XI will take on a President’s XI packed with former players in a 25-over match.

During the interval The Peter Davies trophy for young cricketer of the year will be presented and the second inductees into the Welshpool Cricket Club hall of fame will be announced.

After the match guests are invited to join club members for a traditional cricket tea. Food and drinks will be available throughout the day.

Club Chairman, Russell Cadwallader, said: “We look forward to welcoming many friends, old and new on Sunday for what has become one of the highlights of our cricketing year.”
