We’re not done yet with the Commonwealth Games which enters its final day of competition in Glasgow this morning.
After the heroics of double-bronze winning swimmer Dan Jones and shot putter Adele Nicoll, who finished a brilliant fifth, fellow former Welshpool High School pupil Josh Whitehouse is set to compete in the Judo heavyweight division.
The 24-year old will launch his campaign this morning at 10.18am in the round of 16 against India’s Yash Ghangas.
Joshua, from Llanymynech, cut his teeth at the local Go Judo club and is the current British Open Champion and the current British No.1 in his weight category.
One of his many recent successes was winning gold at the Mandurah Oceania Open, the biggest international title of his career to date.
