Welshpool Olympian Adele Nicoll has been chosen as one of four Powys athletes to have the honour of carrying the King’s Baton when it passes through the south of the county this Sunday.

Bobsleigh and shotput ace, Adele, will join Tim Davies (Cycling), Natalie Powell (Judo) and Rob Davies (Para Table Tennis) for the two special community sporting events in Brecon and the Elan Valley to promote this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

A total of 22 baton bearers will take part in in Brecon and 29 in the Elan Valley. All have been selected to inspire others because of their sporting success, commitment to their communities or their ability to overcome adversity.

In the Elan Valley, spectators will have the opportunity to see headline Adele and Tim Davies, while in Brecon, the event will feature Natalie and Rob.
