Following her hugely successful homecoming event held at the Town Hall last Friday evening, Welshpool Olympian Adele Nicoll will return to action at the weekend looking to book her Commonwealth Games place in shot put with Team Wales.
The 29-year-old has been named in the Welsh squad for this weekend’s Loughborough International, one of the final opportunities for her to record a big enough throw that can ensure her place for this summer’s Games in Glasgow.
Adele has spent the past few weeks training in the USA, and believes she can mount a serious campaign to become a dual Olympian by reaching the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. In 2022 she reached the Commonwealth Games finals for shot put.
Back in February, her Olympic dream came true when she became the first British woman to compete in the Monobob at the Winter Olympics. She also competed in the two-woman bobsleigh.
