Kacey Jones has clinched the 2025 Welshpool Darts Premier League title, meaning three different winners have now claimed the title.
The night started with a bang with Steve Price averaging just over 100 in his quarter-final against Neil Astley, while Kacey Jones beat the defending champion Gary Jones in a tight battle.
Jamie Kynaston defeated Ewan Jones in the battle of the newcomers and Dan Morgan claimed a fine victory over 2023 champion, Gareth Ashley, in the other quarter-finals.
Kacey then defeated Price 5-4 in the semi-final, with Price missing two darts to win the match and then Jones taking out a sublime 130 checkout to book his place in the final. Kynaston romped to victory over Morgan to set up a tie with Jones in the final.
The final was nothing short of spectacular. Kynaston took an early 3-1 lead only for Jones to fight his way back into the match at 4-4, to then take the title 6-4. He hit 4x180s in the final, with Kynaston also hitting one, to claim the trophy for the first time.
In the consolation, it came down to Dave Rix and Rhys Butler in the final with the latter edging it 3-2 after Rix missed opportunities to win himself.
The league once again would like to thank all of their sponsors and supporters this year with what’s been an exciting season.
We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 with hopefully some new additions to the league.
