Welshpool Summer Darts Premier League debutant Dan Morgan headlined the final league night by qualifying for the top eight on his debut year.

Morgan had a big task ahead of him, needing a minimum five points from six for a chance to qualify, and he managed it with a 4-0 win over Mitch Butler, a 4-2 win over Cam Williams and a fantastic 3-3 draw against Kacey Jones to qualify.

Kacey had a 4-0 win over Williams, who won his final game 4-2 over Haydn Jones, with Jones claiming a big win over Jamie Kynaston to finish his season off in style.

Steve Price finished top of the table with wins over Dan Hosiene and Gary Jones. The ‘Postman’ fell agonisingly short in his last game against Jordan Harding, losing 4-2, with him only needing a point to qualify. Harding finished his season off strong with a win over Neil Astley and a draw with Ewan Jones.

Rhys Butler got the better of Rob Shingler, 4-2, with the last game of the night coming up against his dad, Mitch Butler, which ended in a draw. Shingler claimed a draw against Neil Astley, with Astley taking the final spot in 8th place for finals night.

Dave Rix finished his season with a 4-1 victory over Jamie Cater which wasn't enough for him to qualify with other games going the other way, with Jamie Kynaston also beating Cater with last year’s former top 8 qualifier enduring a tough season.

Cam Williams produced the highest checkout with a 127.

The seeded doubles takes place this Friday at 7.45pm with the players having a one-minute silence before play for the late Keith Gamble, who unfortunately passed away last week.
