The Ladies and Seniors captains of Lakeside Golf Club have reflected on a hectic few months which has seen some bumper fields taking part in events and competitions.
Ladies captain, Michelle Humphries, has reflected on her previous FOUR months in office and her role within the club. Michelle has promoted a warm, friendly and supportive atmosphere for all members new and old. This has included ‘Away Days’ and ‘Friday evening Roll Ups’.
Michelle acknowledges the experience that she gained from being Vice Captain which has allowed her to develop the ladies’ section and said she is delighted that many of the ladies are competing in organised competitions.
She is confident too that to that the club will continue to develop the section when she passes the reigns to her Vice Captain, Gill James, next year.
Meanwhile, Senior Captain, Matt Evans, reported that collectively there have been 800 entries in competitions to date, including six matches against other clubs and two away days.
The record attendance so far is 46 on a Wednesday morning, with many new members this summer.
On Wednesday, August 6, they had 30 players at Lakeside and a team of 12 playing at Church Stretton led by Vice Captain, Dave Riley.
