The penultimate night of the Welshpool Summer Premier Darts League was full of drama and excitement to say the least, with a number of players still in with shout of securing the final four places in the top eight for finals night.
Gareth Ashley took two wins out of three on the night over Gary Jones and Jordan Harding, with his loss coming at the hands of Steve Price who claimed the highest check out of the night with a 132.
Price got a second win on the night over Haydn Jones, 4-1, which put him firmly in second place with one week to go. Gary Jones suffered a second defeat to Cameron Williams, 4-2.
Harding secured two draws in his other games with Dan Morgan and Haydn Jones.
Neil Astley sits in the eighth place after another win over Dan Morgan who’s looking to secure a top 8 spot in his debut year. Morgan managed a draw in his last game of the night to Dave Rix with 'Rixxy' grabbing another draw on the night against Cam Williams.
Ewan Jones had a convincing over Rob Shingler who then drew with ‘draw king’ Dan Hosiene.
Rhys Butler produced another fine performance to dispatch Jamie Kynaston, 4-1, on the night. Kacey Jones claimed a 4-2 win over Mitch Butler to solidify his place on finals night.
With the final league night this week, the last four places are still up for grabs in the top 8 with Gareth Ashley, Steve Price, Ewan Jones and Kacey Jones all qualifying so far.
It promises to be a firework-filled night of darts with plenty of big games on the fixtures list.
