Welshpool Rugby Club are inviting the town to share their memorable WRU Division Two North title win with an open celebration day on Saturday.
The club will be playing in Division One next season for the first time in decades, and it marks the tremendous progress that has been made as a community-centred club over recent years.
As well as the trophy being presented, the club will make it a family celebration for all with a BBQ, bouncy castle and bar open.
“Winning the league and securing promotion to Division One is something that the club hasn’t achieved in decades and speaks to the hard work and dedication of all the players, coaches and volunteers associated with the club,” said Club Chairman, Jake Best.
“I couldn’t be any more thankful to those involved and have no doubt the team’s achievements will serve as a source of pride for everyone championing sport in our town.
“That said, none of this would have been possible without the backing of our fantastic sponsors, members, supporters, families and friends who have been with us every step of the way.
“It’s this unwavering support that allows us the platform to develop as a community club and continue to provide access to sport for local people, so we’d love to see as many of you as possible on Saturday and share the day with the community that we’ve been so proud to represent.”
The event starts at 2pm with an open invitation for all to attend.
