A local 14-year old continues to make a big impact on the national archery scene, and has high hopes for international honours in 2025.
Alex Sillitoe-Price, from Tregynon, finished second behind Team GB Olympic archer, Alex Wise, at the Truball Axcel Back-to-Back, the UKs largest indoor archery tournament, held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
His silver spot secured £250 and an equipment sponsorship from the title sponsors.
Alex kept his cool to become the youngest to achieve such a high finish at the event, shooting down to just six of the best in the recurve men’s archery category.
With the lowest scorer eliminated each time, Alex faced off with the more experienced Wise and took it to the wire in a closely fought final match that saw the Team GB star winning by just two points.
His attentions will now turn towards 2025 and the outdoor season, where he hopes to compete in international youth competitions in Slovenia and Canada, as well as closer to home in the GB National Tour & Youth Series.
