After narrowly losing their unbeaten record last weekend at Teirw Nant by 29-28, Welshpool will be hoping to get back on to winning ways when lowly Caernarfon 2nds visit Maesydre, writes Gary Williams.
The visitors are yet to pick up a point after seven games and form suggests that they are unlikely to prevent the hosts from picking up an all-important win.
Welshpool head coach, Daley Jones, said: “Last week we once again found ourselves trailing early in the match at Nant Conwy and the 19-0 half time deficit left us with a mountain to climb in the second period.
“To their credit, the boys stuck at it and just ran out of time to secure a valuable win against a very good Teirw Nant side. Coming home with two bonus points was a just reward for the effort we put in.
“If you were to look at the league table, this week’s home game against a Caernarfon 2nds team, yet to win a game, should be the ideal game to launch another winning run but we’re not going to be complacent and know that the visitors, at full strength, will be a formidable challenge and one we're all looking forward to.”
Elsewhere in Division Two, Machynlleth host Colwyn Bay in what could be a classic. Mach have settled in this Division after a poor start and, at home, are a match for anybody in this league.
Newtown travel to Rhyl in a game where home advantage could make the difference between two teams who have won and lost the same number of games this season.
Newtown, confident after winning their last two league games, will have a battle on their hands but I won’t be surprised if they narrowly sneak the win.
In Division One, COBRA entertain high-flying Caernarfon and can expect a tough game against a side in confident mood after their draw at league leaders Nant Conwy last weekend.
Caernarfon have been the big surprise in Division One, unbeaten so far with eight wins and a draw to sit proudly in second place in the league table.
For their part, the Meifod boys are very hard to beat on their own patch and the outcome may be decided very late in this game.
In Division Three North East, the game of the season so far takes place at Cae Hafren as unbeaten leaders Llanidloes take on second-placed Wrexham 2nds.
Llanidloes, having scored almost 100 points in their last two league games, will find the visitors a real challenge and it could be a much closer scoreline at the final whistle than they have been getting used to. COBRA 2nds miss out on a league game this weekend due to the odd number of teams in the division.
