We told you about Ryan Hardy’s gold medal at the Swim Wales Summer Meet held in Swansea last week. Well, it appears he was just warming up!
Hi dad Dale last night proudly posted this picture of Ryan wearing four medals around his neck, and three of them are gold!
The 16-year-old followed up his 200m freestyle gold for his age group with further golds in Individual medley and 400 freestyle. He then joined his teammates to win a bronze in the mixed 100m freestyle relay.
Dale described it as “not a bad week for him” and mum Tracey Langford told us that his success was even more remarkable considering “he has hardly trained for the past two weeks”.
The teenager, who schools at Mount Kelly School, Tavistock (Devon), will head home for the summer now but while many swimmers will be enjoying the down time, Ryan has told his parents he is looking forward to farming for the rest of the holidays! He will also train with Wrexham Swimming Club.
Ryan’s success this week, as well as his brilliant times at the British Championships the week before, means that he will be training with the Wales swimming team next season.
