Vix joins Welshpool Town Council

A Welshpool businesswoman has been confirmed as the town’s latest town councillor after being the only name nominated for the Castle Ward seat vacated by Sally Fitzgerald this summer.

Popular photographer Vix Davis has been confirmed following the official Statement of Persons Nominated by the Returning Officer at Powys County Council.

As she was the only candidate, the poll scheduled for October 22 will not be contested.

“Vix is well known locally for her photography business and her advocacy of women in business,” a town council statement reads.

“Welshpool Town Council looks forward to welcoming Cllr Davis to the authority and working together to support the town and its residents.”

Ms Fitzgerald resigned from the council in August after serving for three years.
