Mayor invites residents to Newtown civic service

Newtown residents are being invited to attend the mayor’s civic service later this month.

The service will be held at All Saints Church in Newtown at 11am on Sunday, September 27.

Mayor of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn, Cllr Margaret Lewington, has invited residents, businesses, community groups and voluntary organisations to take part.

The annual service recognises the individuals and organisations that contribute to the community and provides an opportunity to reflect on the area’s achievements.

Cllr Lewington said: “I want this civic service to be about bringing our community together.

“Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn has a tremendous spirit, and that spirit comes from the people who live here, work here and give their time to support others.

“Whether you have lived here all your life or have recently made Newtown your home, I would love you to join us.”

Refreshments will be served at The Monty Club in Newtown following the service.

The event is open to everyone and no booking is required.
