Byelaws that govern Welshpool out for public comment

Welshpool Town Council has published draft byelaws relating to Open Spaces, Markets and Public Toilets following approval by Full Council.

The publication of these draft byelaws forms part of the statutory process under the Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012 before the Council decides whether to formally make the byelaws.

The statutory publication period runs until September 21 and during this period, any person may inspect the draft byelaws and submit written representations to the Council.

The draft byelaws are available to download via http://welshpooltowncouncil.gov.uk/consultation/ and may also be inspected at the Welshpool Information Centre during normal opening hours.

Representations must be received by 5pm on September 21 2026 and should be sent to town.clerk@welshpooltowncouncil.gov.uk or Town Clerk, Welshpool Town Council, Welshpool Information Centre, Vicarage Gardens, Welshpool, SY21 7DD.

All representations received during the statutory publication period will be reported to Full Council before a decision is taken on whether to make the proposed byelaws.
