Show race cancelled due to heat

Organisers of tomorrow evening’s Guilsfield Show Trail Run have decided to play it safe and cancel due to the expected warm evening forecasted.

The area continues to bask in glorious weather, but it is taking a toll on events and with day time temperatures expected to reach the 30s again tomorrow, organisers don’t want to risk it in the evening.

The evewnt was due to start from the heart of the village (pictured) but in an announcement this morning, the organisers stated: “Apologies but due to the very high temperatures expected tomorrow evening our race medic has advised that the race be cancelled. See you next year!”

But the drought won’t stop the big event going ahead on Thursday with hundreds of people expected to pack the show field to take advantage of the fantastic weather.
