‘Back Road’ resurfacing to be carried out from July 6

There’s good news for motorists after it was announced that the work to resurface the Back Road will take place at night.

Work is set to begin on the evening of Monday, July 6, and Cllr Graham Breeze has been informed that it will take up to five nights.

“I’ve just had it confirmed that work to complete the resurfacing of Brook Street in Welshpool will now take place overnight,” he said.

“Letter drops to residents and businesses will take place next week with advanced signage going up Friday.

“Not ideal for night sleepers but far less disruption than closure during the daytime.”

It has also been confirmed that the ‘Seven Stars Road’ will also be resurfaced at the same time.

The work has been on hold after emergency gas works had to take place on the same stretch of the road before the resurfacing could be done.
