Two taken to hospital following Monday five-vehicle collision

Two people were taken to hospital following the five-vehicle collision that closed the A458 between Middletown and Welshpool on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 1pm and involved three cars, a van and a Yamaha motorbike with one of the cars catching fire as a result. The smoke could be seen from miles away.

The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered and debris cleared and reopened at around 4.15pm.

Two people were taken to hospital for further medical attention. We have contact the Wales Ambulance Service for an update on their conditions.
