Welshpool Town Council has secured a healthy grant of £20,000 to install new play equipment for younger children to enjoy at Maesydre.
At tonight’s Operations & Development Committee meeting for the Town Council, councillors will be told that the grant has been secured from the All Wales Play Opportunity Grant.
The council has listened to complaints made by some parents that there wasn’t sufficient equipment for younger children to enjoy, and responded with the bid.
Once councillors are expected to rubber stamp the project tonight, and approve a match funding contribution of £954 from the Play Equipment budget, they will work with Ray Parry Playgrounds Ltd to carry out the works.
