The generosity of the people from the Welshpool area has led to major project at the town’s hospital getting underway next month, it has been confirmed.
The Welshpool Hospital League of Friends, in conjunction with Powys Teaching Health Board, have confirmed that thanks to donations, legacies and fundraising activities, an extension to the staff dining room and an enhancement of the outside area will improve all facilities for both staff and the patients.
The “majority of the project spend” has been covered by the efforts of The Welshpool Hospital League of Friends from a “substantial amount” raised, with local trades and suppliers being used wherever possible.
It is hoped that work will be completed by Christmas.
“The League of Friends would like to thank all who have supported their continuing work,” a spokesperson told us.
