We are all invited by one of Welshpool’s biggest landowners to enjoy a day down on their farm which is walking distance from The Flash.
Corfield Farm is opening up on Sunday, May 4, for a family fun day that will raise money for two charities through a number of events on the day.
The event is being held next to Corfield Country Park, which can be accessed by foot from the left side of The Flash (pictured), and with it being an authentic farm field, suitable footwear is advised.
Entry is free but there will be small charges to enter the competitions:
A photographer will be on site and a fallen tree is in the process of being prepared for love locks which will be available to buy on the day.
All proceeds will be split between Lingen Davies Cancer Centre and the Standard Poodle Rescue.
Refreshments will be available to buy on the day along with a variety of stall holders and a face painter will also be on site.
A spokesperson said: “We wanted to set up a Fun Day for people to enjoy, and if we can make some money for our nominated charities then that’s an added bonus.
“We don’t believe there are many people whose lives have not been directly, or indirectly affected by cancer and we are only too well aware of the tremendous support the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre and its amazing team offer.
“The Standard Poodle Rescue Services have been offered since 1980. Recent years have seen a huge increase in demand and as well as a massive deterioration in the health and condition of the poor souls needing rescue from abuse and serious life-threatening neglect.”
The event is weather reliant, with the gate open to the public from noon.
“We welcome the opportunity to share this fantastic venue for the afternoon and have every confidence that our wonderful community will enjoy it responsibly and take any and all rubbish home with them,” the spokesperson added.
