A new book chronicling the lives of those commemorated on the Newtown War Memorial will be launched next week.
The publication, which details the personal stories behind the names inscribed on the memorial, will be unveiled at the Monty Club in Newtown on Thursday, 24th April.
The event will run from 7pm until 8.30pm, with an open invitation extended to all interested members of the public.
The comprehensive work offers readers insight into the lives of those from Newtown and Mochdre who made the ultimate sacrifice during both World Wars.
Each entry provides extensive biographical information including parents details, birthplaces, marital status, children, pre-war occupations, circumstances of death and burial locations.
Local historian Alan Crowe compiled the book in collaboration with Steven John of West Wales War Memorials, bringing together meticulous research to honour the memory of local servicemen and women.
The launch event presents an opportunity for those with interests in family history, local heritage or the World Wars to discover the human stories behind the memorial's names.
