8x10km charity event reaches Newtown

An 8x10km challenge run to raise money for Parkinsons Cymru has reached Newtown.

Runners took part in Tuesday's part of the eight day challenge at NPTC College after a similar run at the local running track at Maldwyn Sports Centre last night.

It is part of eight 10km runs taking place each day up to this weekend's Welshpool 10k on Sunday.

It was founded by Phil Owen and had raised over £15,000 so far.

OIn Tuesday, Newtown's Mayor, Cllr Peter Lewington, waved off the runners on their latest run.
