Station Car Park closure dates confirmed

Following on from our story last week that Welshpool Railway Station Car Park will be closed for a fortnight, Transport for Wales has reconfirmed the dates.

Millions of pounds-worth of work is being carried out on the line, which will be closed with a bus replacement service in place that will require access to the Car Park.

And the national train operator reiterated last night: “Welshpool Car Park will be closed from Sunday, March 14, to Wednesday, April 2. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The Car Park has been widely abused in recent years by workers parking there for free all day, leading to calls for restrictions to be put in place from rail users unable to find a space.
