Residents, businesses and community groups in Llanfair Caereinion are being invited to help shape an important new plan for the town’s future.
The Placemaking Plan, commissioned by Powys County Council and Llanfair Caereinion Town Council and funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will set out a vision and identify priority projects to help attract investment to the town over the next five-10 years.
Consultants Owen Davies Consulting Ltd have been working with local organisations since mid-2024 to develop initial proposals.
These include ideas for revitalising the area alongside the River Banwy, improving connections between the town centre and Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, and enhancing key town centre spaces like the former Market Square.
“Feedback received will help shape the final version of the plan, which will be used to support funding applications for improvement projects,” a spokesperson for the town council told us.
Local residents can view and comment on the draft proposals:
The consultation runs until Friday, March 21.
