An initiative that has brought big screen cinema back to Welshpool is proving to be a hit with movie-goers.
Welshpool Town Council has introduced Flicks in the Sticks every month, with a film showing on the first Monday of every month at the Town Hall.
And at last night’s Events and Tourism Committee meeting, town councillors were informed that February’s showing of 'Book club-The Next Chapter', drew the biggest audience.
Events co-ordinator Kimberley Wright said that 66 people attended, and revealed that the March film would be ‘Yesterday’.
To which committee chair, Chris Davies, commented: “Even when the Pola Cinema was open I think they would have struggled to get 66 people on a Monday night.
“It’s a brilliant initiative for the town and one that I am extremely proud of.”
