Forecasters are expecting this weekend’s snowfall to be heavier and more disruptive than first feared.
The Met Office has upgraded tomorrow’s anticipated snow storm to an Amber Warning, from Yellow, meaning that it is set to be more disruptive.
Power cuts are now “highly likely” along with road disruptions so the advice, as always, is to stay home unless absolutely essential.
Expect rail and bus services to be impacted while walking will be treacherous due to the drop in the temperatures creating ice.
The Amber Warning comes into play from 6pm on Saturday through to noon on Sunday, and is then replaced by a yellow warning for the rest of the day.
