Nicky the donkey saved in time for Christmas

Firefighters have saved a donkey in distress after becoming stuck near Newtown.

Crews from Newtown, Montgomery, Welshpool, and Rhayader joined forces to rescue "Nicky" the donkey from close to a river yesterday.

In a heartwarming story just before Christmas, firefighters said the donkey was rescued safely and is now resting.
