Welshpool residents are being offered a unique opportunity to shape the future of fire safety in their community.
The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking individuals to join their team as Community Ambassadors.
The voluntary role will see residents become vital links between the service and the community, ensuring that local voices are heard and that fire safety messages reach every corner of the Welshpool area.
Community Ambassadors will be involved in a range of activities, from building relationships with local organisations and community groups to communicating vital fire safety information and promoting community engagement initiatives.
They will act as advocates for their community, ensuring that the Fire and Rescue Service understands and responds to local needs and concerns. Crucially, Ambassadors will have a direct impact on the development and improvement of fire services in Newtown by providing feedback and participating in key discussions.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for Newtown residents to make a real difference in their community," said a spokesperson. "Community Ambassadors play a crucial role in helping us to deliver the best possible service to the people of Welshpool. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about their community, have strong communication skills, and are committed to making a positive impact."
The role offers a chance for personal and professional development, providing valuable experience in communication, collaboration, and community engagement. It's also a great way to meet new people, build networks, and gain a deeper understanding of the Fire and Rescue Service and its vital role in the community.
The time commitment is flexible, with the service asking for a few hours per quarter from volunteers.
