MP tells laid off wood workers to “get in touch”
BSW Group confirmed that they were closing their Welshpool branch and shifting their operations to Carlisle, leaving dozens of people looking for new jobs in the run-up to Christmas.
In response, Montgomeryshire & Glyndwr MP, Steve Witherden, said: “Very sad news for Welshpool. On hearing the news yesterday, I attempted to make contact with affected employees and will continue to do so. I encourage anyone to get in touch with my office for support.”
In a statement his morning, BSW told us: "The business has made the decision with a view to better meet the demands of customers, improve profitability and strengthen its position in a challenging marketplace."
