The loss of Rhys is “absolutely devastating for us all”
Rhys, 41 from Glynneath, tragically died as a result of a road traffic collision last Saturday evening near the Horseshoes pub close to Welshpool.
He was travelling along the A483 near Welshpool with his 9-year-old son when his vehicle was involved in a collision. Rhys sadly died at the scene, and his son remains in hospital recovering from his injuries.
His family have paid tribute to him saying: “Rhys was a devoted husband, father and family man and his loss is absolutely devastating for us all. We are thankful for the support we have received since this truly awful incident and continue to be comforted by the well wishes.
“As a family we would be grateful to now be afforded the time to grieve.”
Abubakr Ben Yusaf, 29, has been charged with drug driving, causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
Umar Ben Yusaf, 33, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured, and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
Both have been remanded in custody until the next court hearing on December 20.
