Schools closed and roads treacherous

Snow hit the Welshpool area, and emergency services urged motorists to take care of it this morning.

Newtown High School, Caersws Primary School, Ysgol Rhiw Bechan, Ysgol Dyffryn Trannon, Llanidloes High School and Ysgol Bro Caereinion have already announced they are closed today.

Montgomery and Llanrhaeadr primary schools are among those also closed. 

The weather is expected to improve as the morning progresses.

Gritters have been out on the main roads, but many side and B roads in the area are untreated.
