National Osteoporosis Day to be highlighted in Newtown

A group in Newtown will highlight National Osteoporosis Day later this week.

The Royal Osteoporosis Society Support Group will meet at Newtown Methodist Church in Back Lane on Friday at 2 p.m.

"The 20th October is World Osteoporosis Day, and to promote this, we are holding an informal meeting with plenty of opportunity to chat with others and share your stories about osteoporosis," said a group spokesperson.

"The Royal Osteoporosis Society risk checker will be available and you can find out how share this with your family and friends. There will also be pamphlets and information about osteoporosis. 

"There will be tea, coffee and a variety of cakes. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free."
