Marie Curie’s incredible work highlighted in Welshpool

14/10/2024 @ 10:37

Welshpool Rotary were treated to an enlightening presentation from Marie Curie volunteer Barbara Norbury about the work of the organisation and the support available for ‘end of life’ care at home for terminal health sufferers.

Marie Curie are the leading ‘end of life’ charity in the UK and are there for anyone with an illness they are likely to die from. That support is also available to those close to them.

Members learned that whatever the illness, wherever you are, they will be there to the end. With 75 years of experience and research, care can be given at home, in their hospices and over the phone.

At the end of Barbara’s talk, retired Welshpool Doctor, Chris Townsend, thanked her for the work of Marie Curie and said: “The work of Marie Curie as an organisation is so important and its value cannot be underestimated for those in need at such a desperate time.”
