We’ll meet again… next year!

The Welshpool 1940s Weekend has come in for huge praise following another successful edition that welcomed hundreds of people to the town from across the country.

The town centre was buzzing all weekend with local businesses playing their part with staff in costume and supporting the activities happening across the town centre.

It’s become an established final weekend of the summer social calendar and is only possible due to year-round fundraising undertaken by a small committee of volunteers.

With the curtain coming down on 2024’s event last night, fundraising for 2025 has already kicked off with a quiz at the Raven Inn this Wednesday at 7pm.

“I am humbled by the constant praise I get from you all for Welshpool 1940s Weekend, but I stress it’s not just me, there is a team of seven of us and together we gave Welshpool an event that the town can be proud of, adding thousands of pounds to the local economy,” said lead organiser Alan Crowe.

“And so it all begins again, a bit like the forth bridge!”
