Welshpool to have a new Health & Safety Committee

30/09/2024 @ 09:10

Welshpool Town Council is forming a new Health & Safety Committee after the acting town clerk said it couldn’t wait any longer, following a visit from experts.

Venessa Voysey said at the latest full council meeting that the issue had become urgent “because we have had our health and safety advisors come and visit”.

“They spoke to our Operations Manager and myself and one of the recommendations was setting up a Health & Safety Committee," she said.

“I am keen to get this underway because there are a lot of things to consider and I am concerned about one of the things raised. It cannot wait another month. We should set up the committee and start working.”

It was agreed unanimously by councillors that the committee should consist of the Mayor, Cllr Phil Owen, and councillors David France, Nick Howells, Bill Rowell and Carol Robinson. Cllrs Morag Bailey and Phil Pritchard could also join, but would have to leave another committee as they are already at their limit of five.
