Trains running through Welshpool are on time this morning following yesterday’s tree strike.
The 14:08 service from Birmingham International to Aberystwyth struck a tree between Welshpool and Newtown and was unable to move.
“Road transport was arranged so passengers could complete their journeys,” a spokesperson for Transport for Wales said this morning.
“There was disruption until end of service yesterday evening but services have returned to normal this morning.”
Passengers reported feeling a jolt when the train came to a sudden standstill near Caerhowel, and they had to stay on board for over two hours until alternative transport arrived. There were no reported injuries.
