Community grants of up to a £1,000 are again available from The Burgesses’ Land Trust.
Organisations operating in Welshpool, Trewern, Guilsfield and Castle Caereinion who provide services and help either exclusively or in part for the young, elderly or people with disabilities are eligible to apply.
The closing date for applications is August 31, and the Trust cannot make awards to individuals or for-profit organisations.
“If you are involved in a group which includes providing services exclusively or in part for the young, elderly or people with disabilities and you operate in those areas this scheme might appeal to you,” a spokesperson said.
“Funds are limited and priority will be given to groups who have not previously received an award from the Trust.”
You can obtain full details of the grant scheme by writing to The Burgesses’ Land Trust, The Cockpit, New Street, Welshpool, SY21 7SF; emailing Tony@montgomeryshire.eu or calling 01938 559087.
What is the Burgesses' Land Trust?
The Trust was set up in 1761 to provide income to support the running cost and repair of the Town Council’s buildings. When this objective has been met in full then the income can go towards the poor and needy.
The Council operates a small grant scheme under the second objective.
