Mayor’s Civic Service to return

The Mayor’s Civic Service will return this year, after an absence for several years.

The Town Council intends to reintroduce the Mayor’s procession through the town to a service at St Mary’s on Sunday, July 14. It is hoped that a marching band will lead the procession.

Following the service, a parade will return to the Town Hall where community awards will be distributed. The final details are being pulled together on the awards which will be announced in the coming week.

Last month, Cllr Phil Owen (pictured), was a elected as Mayor.
