CULL EWE (2949)
An entry of 2949 cull sheep on offer for sale today, sold to average £39.21 for the ewes and £79 for the rams. Top price of the day for the ewes was £139 per head from W R P Jones Pant. Top price for the cull rams was £ 79 per head from CL & C Watkins Bank Farm. Weekly sale of cull sheep to immediately follow the sale of fat lambs at approximately 12noon.
STORE LAMBS(296)
An entry of 300 store lambs achieving an overall average of £40. Theave lambs achieving a top price of £61 from D S Jones & Co Fronheulog. Mixed and clean lambs achieving a top price of £65 from D M Jones Gesailfa Uchaf. Wether lambs achieving a top price of O & H Moyle Brynunty. Tup lambs achieving a top price of £68.50from M H Pugh Gilfach. Mixed and tup lambs achieving a top price of £55 from Messers Roberts Tyddyn.
An entry of 18 cade lambs achieving a top price of £22.
IN LAMB EWES.
An entry of 300 in lamb ewes. Two year old ewes achieving a top price of £82 from S & A Perkins Upper Farm. Three year old mule ewes scanned mostly doubles achieving a top price of £97 from D A & MD wright Heathmynd. Full mouth
COUPLES
An entry of 30 ewes with lambs. A texelx two year old with twins at foot achieving a top price of £116 from N A Derwas Plas Trehelig. More ewes and lambs expected next week. Store lamb sale to commence at 10.30am with in lamb ewes and couples to follow.
DAIRY COWS
An entry of 20 dairy cows met with a tidy trade once again with R R Corfield & Co Bronynant achieving a top price o £2120 for a Willingham Ban Ban Red daughter. J R Wilkinson Dyffryn Farm Meifod sold four pedigree cows to a top of £2060 and £2030 for two 2nd calvers. A third calver and a fourth calver made £1850 and £1910 respectively. Two third calvers from M R Williams Wern Holdings sold for £1700 and £1760. K S Jones & Sons Lane Farm Deytheur sold three Riverdance Sizzler daughters for £1710, £1790 and £1730. Two heifers from EG & A Edwards & Son Tynewydd sold for £1720 and £1700. A breakdown of the prices achieved where as follows:
£2000 + 3 lots, £1800 - £2000 3 lots, £1600 - £1800 9 lots, £1400 - £1600 3 lots, Less than £1400 2 lots.
