Dyfed-Powys Police have explained why a force helicopter spent 90 minutes hovering over Welshpool on Thursday afternoon.
Readers were understandably worried to see the helicopter spend considerable time circling over the town, and this morning the local force has explained.
“Dyfed-Powys Police requested the assistance of the National Police Air Service (NPAS) to locate an individual who had been reported missing in Welshpool at around 2.25pm on Thursday,” a spokesperson explained.
“NPAS was stood down at around 3.55pm, and local officers are continuing their enquiries.”
