Local flood alerts following Storm Bert
A red warning is in place for the Abermule and Fron areas with the likelihood of roads being impassable and houses under threat of flooding. Another red alert is in place for the Aberbechan area near Newtown.
A yellow flood alert covers the rest of the Severn catchment area through the outskirts of Welshpool and across to the English border, according to Natural Resources Wales.
The red warning for the Fron area came into place with the water levels expected to have peaked at around 4m above normal by about 10pm last night.
The yellow warning poibts out that roads close to Cilcewydd, Trehelig, Welshpool and Llandrinio could all be affected with rising river levels.
